Richard Lapointe was inspired to write the adventures in Beaver Coats and Guns as he listened to a radio broadcast showcasing the music of the early fur traders when he lived in Montreal after college. He spent the next seven years researching the subject, even staying near an Ojibway village on Lake Huron through a winter to write. Richard set the book aside for many years but picked it back up in the summer of 2015. Now, he is proud to present his first historical novel.
Richard Lapointe received his degree in mathematics from the University of Toronto and began his career in the computer software field. More than forty years later, Richard is now focusing on his writing. He also enjoys spending time with his family at their cabin on Manitoulin Island.
